Uttar Pradesh Election: Rudhauli Assembly Constituency 2022
Rudhauli comes under the Basti district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Rudhauli voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 3 and the result was declared on March 10.
Rudhauli assembly constituency had 4,08,848 electors in 2017, out of which 2,21,763 were male voters and 1,87,085 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 12 candidates in the fray from Rudhauli constituency. Rudhauli was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sanjay Pratap Jaiswal won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Rajendra Prasad Chaudhary by a margin of 21,805 votes.
The top three candidates split 95.5% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sanjay Pratap Jaiswal got a total of 90,228 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Rajendra Prasad Chaudhary secured 68,423 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Sayeed Ahmad Khan grabbed the third spot with 51,743 votes. The top three parties got 40.9%, 31.0% and 23.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Sanjay Pratap Jaiswal defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Rajendra Prasad Chaudhary by 5,843 votes.
