Bharatiya Janata Party's Jai Prakash Nishad got a total of 77,754 votes, while Indian National Congress's Akhilesh Pratap Singh secured 50,965 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Chandrika Nishad grabbed the third spot with 23,081 votes. The top three parties got 48.1%, 31.5% and 14.3% respectively.
