Safipur is the assembly constituency which comes under the Unnao district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Safipur was held on February 23 and the results was declared on March 10.
Safipur assembly constituency had 3,27,839 electors in 2017, out of which 1,83,662 were male voters and 1,44,177 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Safipur constituency had 8 candidates for assembly seat contention. Safipur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Bamba Lal won the election by upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Ram Baran by a margin of 27,236 votes.
96.9% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Bamba Lal grabbed a total of 84,068 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Ram Baran got 56,832 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Sudhir Kumar bagged 48,506 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 43.0%, 29.1% and 24.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Sudhir Kumar beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Ram Baran by 9,054 votes.
