93.8% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Indian National Congress's Masood Akhtar grabbed a total of 87,689 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Jagpal Singh got 75,365 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Manoj Chaudhary bagged 58,752 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 37.1%, 31.9% and 24.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Jagpal defeated Indian National Congress's Ch. Abdul Wahid by 17,113 votes.
