Sahibabad is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Ghaziabad district. People of Sahibabad voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 10 and the results was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Sahibabad assembly seat had 8,65,626 registered voters. Of the, 4,95,923 were male and 3,69,703 were female voters. 0.3% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 11 candidates in the fray from Sahibabad constituency. Sahibabad was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Sunil Kumar Sharma comfortably winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Amarpal by a huge margin of 1,50,685 votes.
88.6% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sunil Kumar Sharma got a total of 2,62,741 votes, while Indian National Congress's Amarpal got 1,12,056 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Jalaluddin grabbed 41,654 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 62.1%, 26.5% and 9.9% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Amarpal beat Bharatiya Janata Party's Sunil Kumar Sharma by 24,348 votes.
