95.8% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sushil Singh grabbed a total of 78,869 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Shyam Narayan Singh got 64,375 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Manoj Kumar bagged 44,832 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 40.2%, 32.8% and 22.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Independent candidate Manoj Kumar outperformed Pragtisheel Manav Samaj Party's Brijesh Singh Urf Arun Kumar Singh by 2,016 votes.
