Sevata comes under the Sitapur district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Sevata voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 23 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 2,96,479 registered voters for Sevata assembly seat, out of which 1,61,871 were male and 1,34,608 were female voters. 1.0% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Sevata constituency had 11 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 312 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Sevata was one of them. The election for Sevata seat was comfortably won by Bharatiya Janata Party's Gyan Tiwari defeating Bahujan Samaj Party's Engineer Mohammad Nasim by a huge margin of 43,659 votes.
The top three candidates split 89.6% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Gyan Tiwari got a total of 94,697 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Engineer Mohammad Nasim secured 51,038 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Shiv Kumar Gupta grabbed the third spot with 43,488 votes. The top three parties got 44.9%, 24.2% and 20.6% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Mahendra Kumar Singh defeated Indian National Congress's Ammar Rizvi by 2,447 votes.
