Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Shailesh Kumar grabbed the third spot with 37,512 votes. The top three parties got 41.2%, 36.2% and 17.6% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Om Prakash Verma beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Dr.Mukesh Verma by 43,994 votes.
