Uttar Pradesh Election: Shivpur Assembly Constituency 2022

Shivpur is the assembly constituency which comes under the Varanasi district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Shivpur will be held on March 7 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Shivpur assembly seat had 3,41,279 registered voters. Of the, 1,88,536 were male and 1,52,743 were female voters. 0.2% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Shivpur constituency had 18 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 312 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Shivpur was one of them. The election for Shivpur seat was comfortably won by Bharatiya Janata Party's Anil Rajbhar defeating Samajwadi Party's Anand Mohan "guddu Yadav" by a huge margin of 54,259 votes.

93.9% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Anil Rajbhar grabbed a total of 1,10,453 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Anand Mohan "guddu Yadav" got 56,194 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Virendra Singh bagged 46,657 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 48.6%, 24.7% and 20.5% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Uday Lal Maurya outperformed Samajwadi Party's Dr.Piyush Yadav by 12,632 votes.
