The top three candidates split 96.9% of votes between them. Bahujan Samaj Party's Hargovind Bhargava got a total of 78,506 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Manish Rawat secured 75,996 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Ram Bakash Rawat grabbed the third spot with 68,956 votes. The top three parties got 34.0%, 33.0% and 29.9% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Manish Rawat defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Dr. Hargovind Bhargav by 6,631 votes.
