Uttar Pradesh Election: Sikanderpur Assembly Constituency 2022

Sikanderpur comes under the Ballia district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Sikanderpur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 3 and the result was declared on March 10.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 2,86,804 registered voters for Sikanderpur assembly seat, out of which 1,57,890 were male and 1,28,914 were female voters. 0.4% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In 2017, 11 candidates were contesting for Sikanderpur assembly constituency seat. Sikanderpur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sanjay Yadav won the election by defeating Samajwadi Party's Ziauddin Rizwi by a margin of 23,548 votes.

92.0% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sanjay Yadav grabbed a total of 69,536 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Ziauddin Rizwi got 45,988 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Rajnarain bagged 34,968 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 42.5%, 28.1% and 21.4% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Jiauddin Rijvi defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Chandrabhushan Rajbhar by 28,531 votes.
