Uttar Pradesh Election: Sirathu Assembly Constituency 2022
Sirathu is the assembly constituency which comes under the Kaushambi district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Sirathu will be held on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.
Sirathu assembly constituency had 3,50,705 electors in 2017, out of which 1,90,160 were male voters and 1,60,545 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.
In 2017, 16 candidates were contesting for Sirathu assembly constituency seat. Sirathu was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sheetla Prasad won the election by defeating Samajwadi Party's Vachaspati by a margin of 26,203 votes.
The top three candidates split 89.9% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sheetla Prasad got a total of 78,621 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Vachaspati secured 52,418 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Saeedurrab grabbed the third spot with 43,782 votes. The top three parties got 40.4%, 27.0% and 22.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Keshav Prasad defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Anand Mohan by 9,863 votes.
