Sitapur is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Sitapur district. People of Sitapur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 23 and the result was declared on March 10.
Sitapur assembly constituency had 3,78,818 electors in 2017, out of which 2,00,734 were male voters and 1,78,084 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Sitapur constituency had 15 candidates for assembly seat contention. Sitapur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Rakesh Rathore won the election by upstaging Samajwadi Party's Radhey Shyam Jaiswal by a margin of 24,839 votes.
The top three candidates split 96.9% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Rakesh Rathore got a total of 98,850 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Radhey Shyam Jaiswal secured 74,011 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Ashfaq Khan grabbed the third spot with 52,181 votes. The top three parties got 42.5%, 31.9% and 22.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Radheyshyam Jaiswal outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Ayub Khan by 10,298 votes.
