Suar is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Rampur district. People of Suar voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Suar constituency had 7 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 47 seats were won by the Samajwadi Party, Suar was one of them. The election for Suar seat was comfortably won by Samajwadi Party's Mohammad Abdullah Azam Khan defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Laxmi Saini by a huge margin of 53,096 votes.
98.5% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Samajwadi Party's Mohammad Abdullah Azam Khan grabbed a total of 1,06,443 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Laxmi Saini got 53,347 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Nawab Kazim Ali Khan bagged 42,233 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 51.9%, 26.0% and 20.6% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Nawab Kazim Ali Khan Urf Naved Mian defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Laxmi Saini by 13,715 votes.
