Uttar Pradesh Election: Sultanpur Assembly Constituency 2022
Sultanpur is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Sultanpur district. People of Sultanpur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.
Sultanpur assembly constituency had 3,60,891 electors in 2017, out of which 1,88,234 were male voters and 1,72,657 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.3% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 15 candidates in the fray from Sultanpur constituency. Sultanpur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Surya Bhan Singh won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Mujeeb Ahmad by a margin of 32,393 votes.
The top three candidates split 95.5% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Surya Bhan Singh got a total of 86,786 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Mujeeb Ahmad secured 54,393 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Anoop Sanda grabbed the third spot with 53,238 votes. The top three parties got 42.6%, 26.7% and 26.1% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Anoop Sanda outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Mohd. Tahir Khan by 6,812 votes.
