Indian National Congress's Ajay Kumar Lallu grabbed a total of 61,211 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Jagadish Mishra Alias Balti Baba got 43,097 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Bijay Rai bagged 41,685 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 28.9%, 20.3% and 19.7% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Ajay Kumar #lalloo# outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Nand Kishor Mishra by 5,860 votes.
