Tarabganj is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Gonda district. People of Tarabganj voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the results was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Tarabganj assembly seat had 3,54,543 registered voters. Of the, 1,91,739 were male and 1,62,804 were female voters. 0.9% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Tarabganj constituency had 10 candidates for assembly seat contention. Tarabganj was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Prem Narayan Pandey won the election by upstaging Samajwadi Party's Vinod Kumar Alis Pandit Singh by a margin of 38,442 votes.
The top three candidates split 95.8% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Prem Narayan Pandey got a total of 1,00,294 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Vinod Kumar Alis Pandit Singh secured 61,852 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Indra Bahadur Singh Alis Pappu grabbed the third spot with 29,332 votes. The top three parties got 50.2%, 30.9% and 14.7% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Awadhesh Kumar Singh Alias Manju Singh outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Ram Bhajan Chaube by 5,180 votes.
