Uttar Pradesh Election: Tilhar Assembly Constituency 2022
Tilhar is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Shahjahanpur district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Tilhar was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
Tilhar assembly constituency had 3,30,651 electors in 2017, out of which 1,80,337 were male voters and 1,50,314 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Tilhar constituency had 14 candidates for assembly seat contention. Tilhar was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Roshan Lal Verma winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Kunwar Jitin Prasada by a margin of just 5,705 votes.
The top three candidates split 93.4% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Roshan Lal Verma got a total of 81,770 votes, while Indian National Congress's Kunwar Jitin Prasada secured 76,065 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Avadhesh Kumar Verma grabbed the third spot with 31,418 votes. The top three parties got 40.4%, 37.6% and 15.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Roshan Lal Verma beat Samajwadi Party's Anwar Ali Urf Zaki Ur Rahman by 10,707 votes.
