Tirwa is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Kannauj district. People of Tirwa voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 20 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,47,126 registered voters for Tirwa assembly seat, out of which 1,93,879 were male and 1,53,247 were female voters. 0.5% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In 2017, 13 candidates were contesting for Tirwa assembly constituency seat. Tirwa was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Kailash Singh Rajput won the election by defeating Samajwadi Party's Vijay Bahadur Pal by a margin of 24,209 votes.
The top three candidates split 97.9% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Kailash Singh Rajput got a total of 1,00,426 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Vijay Bahadur Pal secured 76,217 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Vijay Singh grabbed the third spot with 32,036 votes. The top three parties got 47.1%, 35.8% and 15.0% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Vyjai Bahadur Pal defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Kailash Singh Rajput by 32,492 votes.
