Zahoorabad is the assembly constituency which comes under the Ghazipur district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Zahoorabad will be held on March 7 and the result was declared on March 10.
Zahoorabad assembly constituency had 3,74,515 electors in 2017, out of which 2,04,905 were male voters and 1,69,610 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 15 candidates in the fray from Zahoorabad constituency. Zahoorabad was one of 4 seats won by the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party. Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party's Om Prakash Rajbhar won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Kalicharan by a margin of 18,081 votes.
95.9% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party's Om Prakash Rajbhar grabbed a total of 86,583 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Kalicharan got 68,502 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Mahendra bagged 64,574 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 37.8%, 29.9% and 28.2% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Syeda Shadab Fatima outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Kalicharan by 10,478 votes.
