95.2% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Upendra Singh grabbed a total of 1,11,064 votes, while Indian National Congress's Tanuj Punia got 81,883 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Km. Meeta Gautam bagged 48,095 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 43.8%, 32.3% and 19.0% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Ramgopal beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Ved Prakash Rawat by 23,041 votes.
