Zaidpur is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Barabanki district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Zaidpur will be held on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.
Zaidpur assembly constituency had 3,66,644 electors in 2017, out of which 1,95,663 were male voters and 1,70,981 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.8% votes.
In 2017, 12 candidates were contesting for Zaidpur assembly constituency seat. Zaidpur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Upendra Singh won the election by defeating Indian National Congress's Tanuj Punia by a margin of 29,181 votes.
95.2% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Upendra Singh grabbed a total of 1,11,064 votes, while Indian National Congress's Tanuj Punia got 81,883 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Km. Meeta Gautam bagged 48,095 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 43.8%, 32.3% and 19.0% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Ramgopal beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Ved Prakash Rawat by 23,041 votes.
