Zamania is the assembly constituency which comes under the Ghazipur district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Zamania will be held on March 7 and the result was declared on March 10.
Zamania assembly constituency had 3,95,070 electors in 2017, out of which 2,17,418 were male voters and 1,77,652 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.
In 2017, 9 candidates were contesting for Zamania assembly constituency seat. Zamania was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Sunita winning the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Atul Kumar by a margin of just 9,264 votes.
90.0% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sunita grabbed a total of 76,823 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Atul Kumar got 67,559 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Om Prakash bagged 49,557 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 35.7%, 31.4% and 23.0% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Omprakash defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Umashanker Kushwaha by 29,440 votes.
