Almora is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Almora district. Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 for Almora was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
Almora assembly constituency had 88,596 electors in 2017, out of which 45,748 were male voters and 42,848 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.7% votes.
In the 2017 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election, there were 11 candidates in the fray from Almora constituency. Almora was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Raghunath Singh Chauhan won the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Manoj Tewari by a margin of 5,379 votes.
The top two candidates split 92.6% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Raghunath Singh Chauhan got a total of 26,464 votes, while Indian National Congress's Manoj Tewari secured 21,085 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Dr.Sanjay Tamta secured 1,654 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 51.5%, 41.1% and 3.2% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Manoj Tiwari defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Raghunath SinghChauhan by 1,181 votes.
