Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Basant Kumar bagged 11,038 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 51.2%, 29.2% and 16.7% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Chandan Ram Dass beat Indian National Congress's Ram Prasad Tamta by 1,911 votes.
