The top two candidates split 94.0% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Mamta Rakesh got a total of 44,882 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Subodh Rakesh secured 42,369 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Ram Kumar Rana secured 4,069 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 48.4%, 45.7% and 4.4% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Surendra Rakesh defeated Indian National Congress's Satyapal Singh by 6,781 votes.
