Bhimtal is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Nainital district. People of Bhimtal voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the results was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Bhimtal assembly seat had 96,691 registered voters. Of the, 52,184 were male and 44,507 were female voters. 1.0% of votes were casted for NOTA.

81.3% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Independent candidate Ram Singh Kaira grabbed a total of 18,878 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Govind Singh Bisht got 15,432 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Dan Singh Bhandari bagged 14,702 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 31.3%, 25.6% and 24.4% respectively.
