Uttarakhand Election: Dharchula Assembly Constituency 2022
Dharchula is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Pithoragarh district. People of Dharchula voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the results was declared on March 10.
Dharchula assembly constituency had 86,337 electors in 2017, out of which 43,166 were male voters and 43,171 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the 2017 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election, there were 7 candidates in the fray from Dharchula constituency. Dharchula was one of 11 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Harish Singh won the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Virendra Singh Pal by a margin of 3,085 votes.
The top two candidates split 90.2% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Harish Singh got a total of 25,597 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Virendra Singh Pal secured 22,512 votes. Independent candidate Durga Prashad secured 2,717 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 48.0%, 42.2% and 5.1% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Harish Dhami beat Bharatiya Janata Party's Khushal Singh by 5,306 votes.
