Uttarakhand Election: Gangolihat Assembly Constituency 2022

Gangolihat is the assembly constituency which comes under the Pithoragarh district. It is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 for Gangolihat was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

Gangolihat assembly constituency had 1,01,208 electors in 2017, out of which 52,549 were male voters and 48,659 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.8% votes.

What happened last time

In 2017, 7 candidates were contesting for Gangolihat assembly constituency seat. Gangolihat was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Meena Gangola winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Narayan Ram Arya by a margin of just 805 votes.

The top three candidates split 94.4% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Meena Gangola secured a total of 20,418 votes, while Indian National Congress's Narayan Ram Arya got 19,613 votes. Independent candidate Khajan Chandra bagged 10,763 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 37.9%, 36.4% and 20.0% respectively.

In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Narayanram Arya outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Geeta Thakur Gowal by 7,880 votes.
