Ghanshali is the assembly constituency which comes under the Tehri Garhwal district. It is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 for Ghanshali was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2017, there were 91,356 registered voters for Ghanshali assembly seat, out of which 46,891 were male and 44,465 were female voters. 1.1% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

Total 57 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Ghanshali was one of them. The election for Ghanshali seat was comfortably won by Bharatiya Janata Party's Shakti Lal Shah defeating independent candidate Dhanilal Shah by a huge margin of 11,653 votes.
The top three candidates split 85.7% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Shakti Lal Shah got a total of 22,103 votes, while independent candidate Dhanilal Shah secured 10,450 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Bheem Lal Arya grabbed the third spot with 4,963 votes. The top three parties got 50.5%, 23.9% and 11.3% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Bheem Lal Arya defeated Indian National Congress's Dhani Lal Shah by 13,694 votes.
