Uttarakhand Election: Jwalapur Assembly Constituency 2022

Jwalapur is the assembly constituency which comes under the Hardwar district. It is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 for Jwalapur was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

Jwalapur assembly constituency had 1,08,867 electors in 2017, out of which 58,482 were male voters and 50,385 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.

What happened last time

In the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Jwalapur constituency had 7 candidates for assembly seat contention. Jwalapur was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Suresh Rathor won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's S.P.Singh Engineer by a margin of 4,788 votes.

The top three candidates split 85.5% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Suresh Rathor got a total of 29,513 votes, while Indian National Congress's S.P.Singh Engineer secured 24,725 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Mulki Raj grabbed the third spot with 19,483 votes. The top three parties got 34.2%, 28.7% and 22.6% respectively.

In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Chander Shakhar outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Madan Lal by 558 votes.
