Uttarakhand Election: Kapkot Assembly Constituency 2022

Kapkot comes under the Bageshwar district and it is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Kapkot voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Kapkot assembly seat had 96,585 registered voters. Of the, 49,131 were male and 47,454 were female voters. 1.2% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election, there were 8 candidates in the fray from Kapkot constituency. Kapkot was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Balwant Singh Bhouriyal won the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Lalit Farswan by a margin of 5,982 votes.

94.5% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Balwant Singh Bhouriyal grabbed a total of 27,213 votes, while Indian National Congress's Lalit Farswan got 21,231 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Bhoopesh Upadhyay bagged 6,964 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 46.4%, 36.2% and 11.9% respectively.

In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Lalit Farswan defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Balwant Singh by 1,369 votes.
