Kedarnath is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Rudraprayag district. People of Kedarnath voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the results was declared on March 10.
In Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2017, there were 85,913 registered voters for Kedarnath assembly seat, out of which 42,971 were male and 42,942 were female voters. 0.8% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Kedarnath constituency had 9 candidates for assembly seat contention. Kedarnath was one of 11 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a close contest with Indian National Congress's Manoj Rawat winning the election upstaging independent candidate Kuldeep Singh Rawat by a margin of just 869 votes.
69.8% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Indian National Congress's Manoj Rawat got a total of 13,906 votes, while independent candidate Kuldeep Singh Rawat secured 13,037 votes. Independent candidate Asha grabbed the third spot with 11,786 votes. The top three parties got 25.1%, 23.5% and 21.2% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Shaila Rani Rawat outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Asha by 2,328 votes.
