Khanpur is the assembly constituency which comes under the Hardwar district. It is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 for Khanpur was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Khanpur assembly seat had 1,35,574 registered voters. Of the, 72,388 were male and 63,186 were female voters. 0.4% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the 2017 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election, there were 13 candidates in the fray from Khanpur constituency. Khanpur was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Kunwar Parnav Singh Champion won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Mufti Riyasat Ali by a margin of 13,735 votes.
86.9% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Kunwar Parnav Singh Champion got a total of 53,192 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Mufti Riyasat Ali got 39,457 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Choudhary Yashveer Singh grabbed 6,894 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 49.9%, 37.0% and 6.5% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Kunwar Pranav SinghChampion defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Ch. Kulveer Singh by 2,831 votes.
