Khatima is the assembly constituency which comes under the Udham Singh Nagar district. It is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 for Khatima was held on February 14 and the results was declared on March 10.
In Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2017, there were 1,06,211 registered voters for Khatima assembly seat, out of which 54,918 were male and 51,293 were female voters. 0.8% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In 2017, 10 candidates were contesting for Khatima assembly constituency seat. Khatima was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Pushkar Singh Dhami winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Bhuwan Chandra Kapri by a margin of just 2,709 votes.
92.7% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Pushkar Singh Dhami grabbed a total of 29,539 votes, while Indian National Congress's Bhuwan Chandra Kapri got 26,830 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Ramesh Singh Rana bagged 17,804 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 36.9%, 33.5% and 22.3% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Pushkar Singh Dhami outperformed Indian National Congress's Davendra Chand by 5,394 votes.
