Kichha comes under the Udham Singh Nagar district and it is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Kichha voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the results was declared on March 10.
Kichha assembly constituency had 1,19,566 electors in 2017, out of which 64,100 were male voters and 55,466 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.

It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Rajesh Shukla winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Harish Rawat by a margin of just 2,127 votes.
89.7% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Rajesh Shukla got a total of 40,363 votes, while Indian National Congress's Harish Rawat got 38,236 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Rajesh Pratap Singh grabbed 7,754 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 46.1%, 43.6% and 8.8% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Rajesh Shukla defeated Indian National Congress's Sarwar Yar Khan by 8,226 votes.
