Uttarakhand Election: Nainital Assembly Constituency 2022
Nainital is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Nainital district. People of Nainital voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
Nainital assembly constituency had 1,08,040 electors in 2017, out of which 57,523 were male voters and 50,517 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.8% votes.
In 2017, 5 candidates were contesting for Nainital assembly constituency seat. Nainital was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sanjeev Arya won the election by defeating Indian National Congress's Sarita Arya by a margin of 7,247 votes.
The top two candidates split 87.5% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sanjeev Arya got a total of 30,036 votes, while Indian National Congress's Sarita Arya secured 22,789 votes. Independent candidate Hem Chandra Arya secured 5,505 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 49.8%, 37.8% and 9.1% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Sarita Arya beat Bharatiya Janata Party's Hem Chandra Arya by 6,308 votes.
