Uttarakhand Election: Pirankaliyar Assembly Constituency 2022

Pirankaliyar comes under the Hardwar district and it is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Pirankaliyar voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Pirankaliyar assembly seat had 1,11,052 registered voters. Of the, 59,418 were male and 51,634 were female voters. 0.3% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In 2017, 11 candidates were contesting for Pirankaliyar assembly constituency seat. Pirankaliyar was one of 11 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a close contest with Indian National Congress's Furkan Ahmad winning the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Jaibhagwan by a margin of just 1,349 votes.

89.8% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Indian National Congress's Furkan Ahmad got a total of 29,243 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Jaibhagwan secured 27,894 votes. Independent candidate Shahzad grabbed the third spot with 23,843 votes. The top three parties got 32.4%, 30.9% and 26.4% respectively.

In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Furkan Ahmad beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Shahzad by 1,944 votes.
