Ranikhet is the assembly constituency which comes under the Almora district. It is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 for Ranikhet was held on February 14 and the results was declared on March 10.
Ranikhet assembly constituency had 79,441 electors in 2017, out of which 40,791 were male voters and 38,650 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.8% votes.
In the 2017 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election, there were 5 candidates in the fray from Ranikhet constituency. Ranikhet was one of 11 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Karan Mahara won the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Ajay Bhatt by a margin of 4,981 votes.
The top three candidates split 96.1% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Karan Mahara secured a total of 19,035 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Ajay Bhatt got 14,054 votes. Independent candidate Pramod Nainwal bagged 5,701 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 47.1%, 34.8% and 14.1% respectively.
