Uttarakhand Election: Rishikesh Assembly Constituency 2022
Rishikesh comes under the Dehradun district and it is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Rishikesh voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the results was declared on March 10.
Rishikesh assembly constituency had 1,51,939 electors in 2017, out of which 79,834 were male voters and 72,105 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.
In 2017, 11 candidates were contesting for Rishikesh assembly constituency seat. Rishikesh was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Premchand Aggarwal won the election by defeating Indian National Congress's Rajpal Singh Kharola by a margin of 14,801 votes.
The top three candidates split 94.8% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Premchand Aggarwal secured a total of 45,082 votes, while Indian National Congress's Rajpal Singh Kharola got 30,281 votes. Independent candidate Sandeep Gupta bagged 17,149 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 46.2%, 31.0% and 17.6% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Premchand Aggarwal outperformed Indian National Congress's Rajpal Kharola by 7,271 votes.
