Uttarakhand Election: Roorkee Assembly Constituency 2022

Roorkee comes under the Hardwar district and it is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Roorkee voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Roorkee assembly seat had 1,13,183 registered voters. Of the, 60,009 were male and 53,174 were female voters. 0.3% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Roorkee constituency had 7 candidates for assembly seat contention. Roorkee was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Pradeep Batra won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Suresh Chand Jain by a margin of 12,542 votes.

93.7% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Pradeep Batra got a total of 40,000 votes, while Indian National Congress's Suresh Chand Jain got 27,458 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Ram Subhag Singh grabbed 3,239 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 55.6%, 38.2% and 4.5% respectively.

In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Pardeep Batra outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Suresh Chand Jain by 801 votes.
