Rudraprayag is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Rudraprayag district. People of Rudraprayag voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the results was declared on March 10.
In Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2017, there were 98,295 registered voters for Rudraprayag assembly seat, out of which 49,875 were male and 48,420 were female voters. 1.3% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In 2017, 11 candidates were competing for Rudraprayag assembly constituency seat. Rudraprayag was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Bharat Singh comfortably winning the election defeating Indian National Congress's Laxmi Singh Rana by a huge margin of 14,632 votes.
The top three candidates split 87.6% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Bharat Singh secured a total of 29,333 votes, while Indian National Congress's Laxmi Singh Rana got 14,701 votes. Independent candidate Pradeep Prasad Thapliyal bagged 5,818 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 51.5%, 25.8% and 10.2% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Harak Singh Rawat beat Bharatiya Janata Party's Matbar Singh Kandari by 1,326 votes.
