Tehri is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Tehri Garhwal district. People of Tehri voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the results was declared on March 10.
Tehri assembly constituency had 80,933 electors in 2017, out of which 42,169 were male voters and 38,764 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Tehri constituency had 11 candidates for assembly seat contention. Tehri was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dhan Singh Negi won the election by upstaging independent candidate Dinesh Dhanai by a margin of 6,840 votes.
89.8% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dhan Singh Negi grabbed a total of 20,896 votes, while independent candidate Dinesh Dhanai got 14,056 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Narendra Chand Ramola bagged 4,466 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 47.6%, 32.0% and 10.2% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Independent candidate Dinesh Dhanai beat Indian National Congress's Kishore Upadhyaya by 377 votes.
