Uttarakhand Election: Tharali Assembly Constituency 2022

Tharali is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Chamoli district. Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 for Tharali was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Tharali assembly seat had 1,02,602 registered voters. Of the, 53,469 were male and 49,133 were female voters. 1.7% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election, there were 9 candidates in the fray from Tharali constituency. Tharali was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Magan Lal Shah won the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Dr. Jeet Ram by a margin of 4,921 votes.

The top three candidates split 94.6% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Magan Lal Shah secured a total of 25,810 votes, while Indian National Congress's Dr. Jeet Ram got 20,889 votes. Independent candidate Guddu Lal bagged 7,088 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 45.4%, 36.8% and 12.5% respectively.

In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Dr Jeet Ram beat Bharatiya Janata Party's Magan Lal by 673 votes.
