90.8% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ritu Khanduri Bhushan grabbed a total of 19,671 votes, while independent candidate Renu Bisht got 10,689 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Shailendra Singh Rawat bagged 10,283 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 44.0%, 23.9% and 23.0% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Vijay Brathwal outperformed Indian National Congress's Sarojani Devi by 3,541 votes.
