      West Bengal bypolls: Trinamool on path of victory in all 4 constituencies 

      Bypolls to four assembly constituencies in West Bengal, including Dinhata, Gosaba, Khardaha and Santipur, were held on October 30.

      Congress unlikely to field candidate against Didi for Bhowanipur bypoll

      While the Banerjee-led Trinamool won Bengal, she lost to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Suvendu Adhikari in Nandigram, and now needs to win a bypoll to retain her seat.

      West Bengal: Elections to Samsherganj, Jangipur assembly seats today

      Reaul Haque, the Congress candidate from Samsherganj assembly constituency in Murshidabad district, died due to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on April 15. Pradip Kumar Nandi, the Revolutionary Socialist Party candidate from Jangipur, also succumbed to the infection on April 17.

      Elections to two constituencies of West Bengal -- Samsherganj and Jangipur -- will take place on Thursday under tight security.(PTI)

      Bengal police deny rape allegation as post-poll violence continues

      Till Tuesday, at least 12 people were killed in various political attacks and clashes that erupted ever since the assembly results were declared on May 2. On Wednesday, the bodies of two TMC workers were recovered in Cooch Behar and Alipurduar districts.
