The US Presidential election 2024 saw a battle between Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump, and Democrat nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris.

Donald Trump secured a historic second win against Kamala Harris, after claiming key battleground states, including Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia. Several Bollywood celebrities also reacted on social media as poll results started to come in during the election night. Among them were actor-politician Kangana Ranaut, who shared the ‘best meme’ on the internet- an AI-generated image of Donald Trump rallying in desi clothes alongside Elon Musk. How Kangana reacted

Kangana shared the meme on her X handle and said, “Best meme on twitter today. Congratulations @realDonaldTrump.” It showed Trump and Elon Musk addressing the crowd in saffron outfits, drawing parallels to how rallies are conducted in India.

Meanwhile, she took to her Instagram Stories to post a picture of Trump after his assassination attempt earlier this year. She wrote in the caption, “If I were American, I would vote for the one who got shot, dodged it, got up, continued his speech, Total killer.”

Meanwhile, she took a diss at Kamala Harris and the celebrity turnout at her campaign. She wrote: “Do you know Kamala's ratings went drastically down when these clowns endorsed her, people thought she was frivolous, flaky and untrustworthy for hanging out with such people (laughing face emoji).”

Amitabh Bachchan took to his X account and reacted to Kamala Harris losing out to Donald Trump. He wrote in Hindi, “Haar gaye toh kya? Jitne ka lakshya ban gaya! Jitte rehte toh badhne ka lakhsya kaise banta (So what if we lost? We have set our goal to win!! If we kept winning, how could we have set our goal to grow)!!"

Emmy-winning actor-comedian Vir Das also took to X and reacted to the US presidential results. “Well, this Emmy monologue is going to be fun :-) The energy in the room is going to be….” he said.

The Kashmir Files director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri wrote in a series of tweets: “I am right-wing in the Indian context, but I can never, ever support anyone who opposes abortion rights and supports guns. Baaki haal chaal thik thak hain.”

How Hansal Mehta reacted

Meanwhile, director Hansal Mehta, who worked with Kangana in Simran, seemed to have a different reaction. He reposted a tweet from director Ali Abbasi and said, “Fascist with a capital F. That’s @realDonaldTrump whose name was once correctly pronounced as ‘Doland’,” As the results indicated a triumph for Trump, he then tweeted, “Game over for Harris?”
