Second acid test for Harman and Farhan
While 'luck' seems to be smiling on Farhan with his first film Rock On!! being one of the blockbusters of 2008, Harman Baweja will have to win the audience this time as his Love Story 2050 could not woo the audience, writes Parmita Uniyal.
While one is touted as Hrithik Roshan lookalike, the other has moved from direction to acting. Harman Baweja and Farhan Akhtar are the two promising faces that have made their presence felt in Bollywood last year with Love Story 2050 and Rock On!!.
Now the two actors are gearing up for their respective releases Victory and Luck By Chance. While 'luck' seems to be smiling on Farhan with his first film Rock On!! being one of the blockbusters of 2008, Harman Baweja will have to win the audience this time as his Love Story 2050 could not woo the audience.
Critics nevertheless have praised Harman Baweja for his debut attempt in spite of Hrithik Roshan comparisons. So, the lad has a fair chance to emerge 'victorious' if he acts well this time.
The factor that had worked in favour of Farhan Akhtar was that he debuted with a typical masala film that couldn't have gone wrong. Since the expectations from him will be rocket-high this time, he should be ready for the acid test.
But if Harman Baweja continues to adopt Hrithik mannerisms, then it will be difficult for him to carve out a niche. Farhan Akhtar too has to come out of the chikna hero image to be taken seriously.
Both the actors are from film background and are aware of the industry ways. All they have to keep in mind is to choose the films intelligently and prevent themselves from vanishing in the hoards of newcomers that are slowly but silently making their foothold in the industry. All the best dudes!
