In the video, several fans are seen crowding the veteran actor's car. While some went near his car to click a selfie, a few also requested him to come out of the vehicle if possible. Rajinikanth is seen waving at fans in response. He also slightly rolled down his window to wave.

Some police personnel were deployed on the spot to control the fans as they tried to approach the vehicle. Several videos shot by fans have also arrived on Twitter.

In Jailer, Rajinikanth plays a prison jailer. The film has been predominantly entirely shot inside a real-life prison. Besides Rajinikanth, it also stars Shivrajkumar, Mohanlal and Jackie Shroff in key roles apart from Tamannaah Bhatia and Ramya Krishnan.

On Sunday, Sun Pictures who is backing the film, teased fans with photos of Jackie Shroff from Jailer. He has reunited with Rajinikanth after 36 years. The duo had previously worked together in the film, Uttar Dakshin.

If everything goes well, Jailer will be released in cinemas on the occasion of Diwali this year. The project has music by Anirudh Ravichander.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth will soon commence work on his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s film, Laal Salaam. He will be seen playing an extended cameo in the movie. With Laal Salaam, Aishwarya returns to direction after a gap of seven years. The film, which is rumoured to be set against the backdrop of cricket and communism, stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant in lead roles.

The project was launched with a pooja ceremony on November 5 last year. Sharing pictures from the event, Aishwarya shared on her Twitter account, “When your FATHER trusts in you. When you believe GOD is by you. MIRACLES happen in true. After 7 long years. The journey begins again with grateful and joyful tears.”
