With changing times, some Hollywood classics lose out on their meaning. A reinterpretation is therefore important for some of them, and though it might unsettle some loyal fans who don’t want anything happening with their classics, modern audiences might like to see the reinterpretations underway.

With changing times, some Hollywood classics lose out on their meaning. A reinterpretation is therefore important for some of them, and though it might unsettle some loyal fans who don’t want anything happening with their classics, modern audiences might like to see the reinterpretations underway. Take for example actor Brandon Lee, who is remembered for his epic role in The Crow, and compare actor Mark Wahlberg or Bradley Cooper, either of whom just might land the role to perform the same character in the remake of the film. It’s most likely to start a debate on which version was better. Here’s a list of some of the upcoming remakes which are creating hype.

Carrie
A remake of the 1976 horror film which is based on Stephanie Meyer’s novel with the same name, Carrie is expected to release on March 15, 2013. Directed by Kimberly Peirce, the film stars Chloe Moretz as Carrie White and Julianne Moore will be seen playing the role of her mother, Margaret White. The films is about a sheltered high school girl who unleashes her rage after she is pushed too far by her peers.

Evil Dead
Directed by Fede Alvarez, Evil Dead is a remake of the 1981 classic by the same name. Starring Jane Levy and Shiloh Fernandez, the movie is about Mia( Jane Levy), who heads to a remote cabin with her brother and a group of friends, where they discovery a Book of the Dead, which leads to danger and horror. The movie is set to release on April 12, 2013.

Godzilla
Probably a third attempt to create the magic, Godzilla - The King Returns will be a remake of the 1954 Japanese classic which was later made into an American film in 1998. This upcoming remake is being directed by Gareth Edwards and it shows an enormous, radioactively mutated lizard running rampant on the island of Manhattan. The movie will to be out in theatres in 2014.

Scarface
Film critics worldwide have already labelled it as a highly anticipated remake and the script is being written currently with nothing finalised on the cast yet. The 1983 Al Pacino classic was about a Cuban immigrant, who takes over the drug industry and succumbs to greed. The film should hit screens by 2014.

The Crow
Based on the 1989 comic, it will be a remake of the cult classic (1994) by the same name. Mark Wahlberg and The Hangover star Bradley Cooper are rumored to be in talks for the lead role which was played by Brandon lee originally. Directed by Javier Gutierrez, the film is expected to be in theatres by 2014.

Dirty Dancing
A remake of the 1987 romantic movie, Dirty Dancing is rumoured to be hitting the theatres in 2014. Even though the cast is not yet decided, the movie’s director is confirmed — Kenny Ortega. The film revolves around a teenage girl’s coming of age through a relationship with a dance instructor who she meets during the family’s summer vacation.
