In March of 2012, Clooney and his father Nick were part of the delegation that peacefully demonstrated in front of the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, D.C., calling worldwide attention to the human rights violations being committed in Sudan, which resulted in their arrest. He founded The Sentry in 2015 to use forensic accountants to follow the money stolen from citizens of Sudan and South Sudan by their Governments. He has testified in front of Congress and worked with United States presidents, two Secretaries of State, and dozens of Senators to help bring peace to South Sudan. RT. HON. BORIS JOHNSON MP, FORMER PRIME MINISTER OF THE UNITED KINGDOM
Rt Hon Boris Johnson MP served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Leader of the Conservative Party, Foreign Secretary, Mayor of London and is the Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip.
In 2019 he led the Conservative Party to an extraordinary election victory, winning their biggest majority in the House of Commons since 1987 and the highest share of the vote of any party since 1979. The result was a major realignment in British politics, with Boris Johnson’s Conservatives winning unprecedented support in areas they had never before represented.
Delivering Brexit - the UK’s exit from the European Union - was Mr Johnson’s first major achievement in Downing Street. His government shattered the political and parliamentary deadlock that crippled the process since the 2016 referendum result. Under Mr Johnson’s leadership, the UK restored sovereign control over its borders, economy and lawmaking, finally enacting the will of the British people.
With his trademark energetic agenda of international cooperation on innovation and technology, alongside promoting trade and investment, Mr Johnson has always been a passionate advocate for UK-India bilateral relations. His landmark visit to India as Prime Minister in April 2022 came as India commemorated the 75th anniversary of her Independence. Mr Johnson's government ramped up negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement between the two nations, and he steered the relationship towards a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, enshrining the UK and India's joint commitment to freedom and a shared future of prosperity.
When Covid-19 struck, Mr Johnson's government helped establish the crucial collaboration on the AstraZeneca/Oxford University Vaccine with the world-leading Serum Institute of India. Mr Johnson later said: 'I have the Indian jab in my arm, and a power of good it did for me...So many thanks to India. And that has helped India to become what Narendra (Modi) has called the pharmacy of the world.' UK-India co-operation during Covid doubtless saved countless lives.
As Foreign Secretary, Mr Johnson welcomed Prime Minister Modi on his historic 2018 visit to the UK, and later in 2021, as Prime Minister, he again welcomed Mr Modi to the UK for the COP26 summit in Glasgow. Mr Johnson believes in protecting, enhancing and reinvigorating the deep ties which exist between the UK and India, having particularly strong relations with the 1.6 million strong Indian diaspora in the UK. He views India as a global leader, and thinks the UK-India relationship is crucial for the future of both countries, the region and the world.
Mr Johnson first entered Parliament in 2001 as MP for Henley. He was twice elected Mayor of London (with the biggest personal mandate ever won in British politics). As Mayor he oversaw the London 2012 Olympic Games, commissioned the new Routemaster bus, and introduced the now-ubiquitous “Boris Bike” cycle hire scheme.
After being returned to the House of Commons in 2015, Mr Johnson served as Foreign Secretary, prioritising global development work on girls’ education and female empowerment.
In addition to his work in politics, Mr Johnson is an award-winning journalist, writer and editor. He is the author of almost a dozen books, from the globally bestselling historical biography of Winston Churchill, The Churchill Factor, to the self-illustrated children’s book The Perils Of Pushy Parents. He edited the Spectator magazine for six years and has written for dozens of major publications including, most notably, London’s Daily Telegraph.
Mr Johnson, who was born in New York City, was educated at Eton College and the University of Oxford, and married his wife, Carrie, in May 2021.
DR. S. JAISHANKAR, HON. EXTERNAL AFFAIRS MINISTER, GOVERNMENT OF INDIA
External affairs minister S. Jaishankar has helped India navigate a string of crisis since he took office in 2019, including the standoff with China on the LAC and the wide-ranging impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Ukraine conflict. His former stints as foreign secretary and envoy to both China and the US made him the ideal candidate for these tasks. At the same time, he has spearheaded the reshaping of India’s relationships with key global players through new mechanisms such as the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue and driven the move for reformed multilateralism against the backdrop of a rapidly changing global landscape.
SACHIN TENDULKAR, FORMER TEAM INDIA CAPTAIN
No Indian can think of cricket without a certain Sachin Tendulkar. ‘Little Master’, ‘Master Blaster’, ‘God of Cricket’ – it doesn’t matter by what name you address him, but Tendulkar is and will remain Indian cricket’s most popular icon. Nine years since his retirement, the 49-year-old still remains the highest run-getter and scorer of most centuries in both Tests and One-Day International (ODI) cricket. A true statesman of the game, the Mumbaikar carried the burden of expectations, almost single-handedly, of a billion-plus nation for close to two-and-a-half decades, doing it with a calm face, reassuring his billion fans.
ARVIND KEJRIWAL, HON. CHIEF MINISTER OF DELHI
An engineer, an Income Tax official, a Right to Information activist, a Magasasay Award winner, an anti-corruption crusader, the founder of the Aam Aadmi Party, a three-time chief minister of Delhi, and now the convener of a party that rules two crucial states — the other being Punjab — Arvind Kejriwal’s achievements are impressive by any standards. But this has been a journey with its share of ups and downs. He led the India Against Corruption movement which gained great public traction; he formed the AAP and went on to lead the government in Delhi but only for 49 days; his challenge to Narendra Modi in Varanasi in 2014 came up short. But soon after, he scored a spectacular victory in the Delhi assembly elections of 2015, where the AAP won 67 of the 70 seats. With a SIMILAR clean sweep of the national capital in 2020, he has widened the scope of his political ambition, training his focus on Gujarat next. There is little doubt that the Delhi CM introduced a new vocabulary in politics and remains among the most important political figures in the country.
BHUPESH BAGHEL, HON. CHIEF MINISTER OF CHHATTISGARH
In 2013, Bhupesh Baghel took over the reins of the Chhattisgarh Congress at a time of crisis; 27 Congress leaders including the party’s heavyweights such as Mahendra Karma, Nand Kumar Patel and Vidya Charan Shukla were killed in a Maoist attack. Suddenly thrown into the deep end, Baghel became the state Congress president, and elections later that year came too early; but five years later, he led the Congress to a thumping win in Chhattisgarh. Baghel’s importance to the Congress can be measured in the fact that he is now one of the two chief ministers the Congress has — the other one is Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan. Tireless and quick-witted, Baghel has quickly become one of the party’s heavyweights, looking at election campaigns across states. For Baghel, an electoral litmus of his own approaches in late 2023, at a time when it is crucial for the Congress not to lose any more ground.
PUSHKAR SINGH DHAMI, HON. CHIEF MINISTER OF UTTARAKHAND
In July 2021, Pushkar Singh Dhami became Uttarakhand’s youngest chief minister at 45. In a state heading to the polls in under six months, Dhami was the BJP’s third CM pick in less than four months, as the party struggled with an identity crisis in the state. The two-time Khatima MLA was the man the party turned to, and he steadied the ship, leading the BJP to a win in the face of a Congress that had heavyweights like Harish Rawat. Ever since, Dhami has looked to cement himself even further, and appears set for a long innings in power.

Jhulan Goswami flying in to deliver the ball was one of the most dreaded scenes for several woman batters for the 20 years that the right-arm fast bowler played at the highest level. The 39-year-old ended her career as the leading wicket-taker in Women’s One-Day Internationals (WODI) and remains one of the two players along with Mithali Raj to play more than 200 WODIs.
